CD release–Fabien Lévy: De l’art d’induire en erreur
Fabien Lévy and the Neue Vocalsolisten have been working together for many years. On the newly released portrait CD of the French composer, the singers can be heard in »De l’art d’induire en erreur« together with the Deutsches Symphonieorchester Berlin …
The music of Fabien Lévy thrives on ambiguity, paradox and sonic illusion. With a deep interest in cognitive perception, he creates complex textures where clarity meets mystery, virtuosity blends with playfulness, and every composition becomes a daring exploration. Influenced by spectralism and his mentors Grisey and Risset, Lévy embraces musical allusions–from visual arts to world traditions–creating pieces that challenge and transform the listener’s perception. Whether through kaleidophonic rhythms, shifting instrumental identities, or intricate references, Lévy invites us to listen actively, to question what we hear, and to revel in the art of misleading.
The CD includes a booklet with comments on the compositions, written by the musicologist Michael Zwenzner, as well as the libretto of De l’art d’induire en erreur
